Southeast Ecology

Southeast Ecology is all about conservation education and spreading environmental literacy. While it began as way for me to recoup expenses related to snake relocation and nuisance wildlife calls, the scope of services grew to include the following:

Educational programs

We work with groups ranging from homeschoolers to scout groups to Master Naturalist classes. So, if you’re looking for a speaker, please contact us to learn more about our educational programs and talks.

Wildlife Friendly Yards

Southeast Ecology can help you build a wildlife friendly yard. Enjoy wildlife by learning how to live with it in peaceful coexistence. Attract animals you want to see, and learn how to reduce your yard’s attractiveness for the things you’d rather not see.

This section includes our snake relocation service, which is what got all this started in the first place. While we encourage homeowners, gardeners, groundskeepers, and pretty much all of humanity to leave snakes be and learn to live with them, we understand that sometimes it doesn’t feel possible. So, rather than let an innocent animal die, we do what we can.

Please understand that relocating snakes is controversial and fraught with conservation concerns. It’s not something we ever do as a first option, but only as a last resort.

Organic Gardening

Do you garden? Southeast Ecology can teach you organic gardening and composting techniques. We also know how to raise chickens, and we’d be happy to get you started!

Help With Science

For help with ecology, biology, or other science-based homework help, please see our other site, Help With Science. I want to help you, but this isn’t the right place for those questions. My tutoring and education website is a better place to engage me for academic help.
